Gatekeeper Character for "Beyond The Door" Short Film

This is the breakdown of the Gatekeeper character that I made in "Beyond The Door" Short Film, completed with my teammate Azsmaan Zayne. All elements of this character was made from scratch to be graded in my school assessment, inclusive of the rig.

This character was made using the workflow of: ZBrush Sculpt > Maya Quad draw Retopo for Base Mesh > Maya Manual Rigging > Texture in Substance Painter.
The Gatekeeper is inspired by Heibai Wuchang, the two deities in Chinese folk religion that guide the spirits of the dead to the underworld. The undertone of this short film was meant to be on the lighter side and depict death in a warmer and accepting manner, so we decided to stylize the character with a childlike and friendly appearance, unlike how Heibai Wuchang is usually depicted in folklore.
